Sunday Morning Worship

Aug 2, 2026  •  Pastor Rudolph White, Jr.

What does it truly mean for Christ to be committed to us, and how do we know if that commitment is real? This message takes us deep into one of the most searching questions a believer can ask. Drawing from John 2:23-25, we are confronted with a sobering truth: Jesus did not commit Himself to everyone who believed in Him, because He could see past their words straight into their hearts. That same standard applies to us today. The message walks us through what genuine surrender looks like, from loving God above every other relationship in our lives, to holding our possessions with an open hand, to dying daily to our own will. These are not suggestions but the very conditions Christ lays out for a real relationship with Him. And here is the breathtaking flip side: when we do surrender fully, His commitment to us is staggering. He gives us eternal life, a transformed nature, security in His hand, a prepared place in eternity, and direct access to the throne of God. The question we are each left with is not whether Christ is capable of committing to us, but whether we have truly committed to Him.
